Lighting Control · Scenes · Circadian Light
Light that knowswhat time it is.
Scenes instead of switch banks. Cool, bright light for the morning; candle-warm light for dinner; a 1% amber glow for the 3am glass of water. Designed, wired and programmed by one Loxone certified team.
DALI, DMX, 0-10V, phase dimming, KNX — whatever your fittings speak, one brain controls it. Locally, with no subscription.

Programmed once — every room follows it, every day
Scenes, not switches
One home. Six kinds of light.
A scene sets every fitting in the room at once — level and colour temperature — from a single tap, a schedule, or the house noticing what you're doing.
Wake
Warm 2700K, 30% — the bedroom brightens like a sunrise
Focus
Cool 5000K at the desk and worktop, full brightness
Cook
Bright task light over the island, warm everywhere else
Dinner
Table lit, worktops fade, 2400K candle-warm
Cinema
Lights fall to 10%, stair and hall stay safe to walk
Night
Everything off; amber 1% guide lights if someone gets up
Circadian Lighting
Light that follows the sun, indoors.
Your body clock is set by light — its brightness and its colour. Human-centric lighting recreates the day's natural arc inside the house: cooler and brighter through the morning and midday, warming steadily through the evening so melatonin can do its job by bedtime.
With tunable-white fittings and the Loxone controller tracking the time and season, this happens automatically, in every room, every day — you never think about it, you just sleep better and feel more awake at your desk.
Sheldon Avenue, LondonThe Technology
Whatever your fittings speak, one brain controls it.
Lighting technology is fragmented on purpose — every manufacturer wants you in their ecosystem. The Loxone Miniserver speaks the professional standards natively, so the lighting designer's scheme, the electrician's circuits and the LED coves all end up in one app, one logic, one set of scenes.
Loxone Tree dimming
New wiring and full renovations
Flicker-free dimming built into the Loxone ecosystem — switches, presence sensors and dimmers on one cable, one app, zero gateways.
24V spots — RGBW & Tunable White
Circadian lighting and colour accents
Loxone’s own LED spots and strips shift colour temperature through the day and dim to a true warm glow at 1% — no buzzing, no dead travel at the bottom of the dial.
DALI / DALI-2
Lighting-designer schemes and architectural fittings
Every driver individually addressable — the standard high-end lighting designers specify. Loxone speaks it natively, so designer fittings and the rest of the house live in one system.
DMX
LED strips, coves and feature lighting
The theatre protocol, useful at home for long RGB(W) runs and feature walls — smooth colour fades across hundreds of channels.
0-10V / 1-10V
Existing commercial-style drivers
The older analogue dimming standard. If your fittings already use it, we control them as first-class citizens rather than ripping them out.
Phase dimming (leading/trailing edge)
Retrofits keeping existing circuits
Dims conventional mains circuits — the pragmatic route when rewiring isn’t on the table. We test your actual lamps first, because cheap LEDs are where flicker comes from.
KNX
Buildings already committed to KNX
If your building runs KNX, Loxone integrates with it rather than fighting it — useful in apartments and refurbishments with existing infrastructure.
Not sure what your existing fittings use? Bring a photo of a driver or a fitting spec to the discovery call — identifying it takes us about a minute.
The Retrofit Question
“Do I have to rewire the house?”
Usually not. Loxone Air dimmers and relays fit behind your existing switches, and phase dimming drives conventional circuits — so scenes, schedules and presence control are all achievable in a finished house, room by room, starting where it matters most.
A renovation or rewire unlocks the rest: individually addressable fittings, tunable white for circadian light, DALI for designer schemes. Which is why our standing advice is simple — if the walls are opening anyway, run the right cable. It's the cheapest moment you'll ever have to do it properly.
Lighting is also where two of our features of living start: Wake Up Well and Cinema Night. New to the platform behind it all? Start with our honest Loxone guide or the Loxone vs Control4 vs Crestron comparison.

Lighting control FAQs
What is a lighting control system?+
Instead of one switch per circuit, every light in the house is dimmable and addressable by a central controller — in our installations, the Loxone Miniserver. Lights are then grouped into scenes ("Cooking", "Dinner", "Cinema") and driven by time of day, presence and daylight, so the right light happens automatically and any switch or phone can override it. It runs locally in your house with no subscription.
What is circadian (human-centric) lighting?+
Lighting that changes colour temperature through the day the way daylight does: cooler and brighter in the morning and midday to support alertness, warming through the evening so your body can wind down towards sleep. It needs tunable-white fittings and a controller that knows the time and season — which is exactly what the Loxone system does, automatically, for every room at once.
What is the difference between DALI and Loxone Tree dimming?+
Both give you individually controlled, smoothly dimmed fittings. DALI is an open standard that lighting designers specify, with a huge choice of professional drivers and architectural fittings. Tree is Loxone’s own wiring system — simpler and more cost-effective when we’re designing the scheme ourselves. Many of our projects use both: DALI for the designer fittings, Tree for everything else, one app for all of it.
Can you add lighting control without rewiring my house?+
Usually, yes. Loxone Air (wireless) dimmers and relays fit behind existing switches, and phase dimming works on conventional circuits — so scenes, schedules and presence control are achievable in a finished house. A full rewire or renovation unlocks more (individually addressable fittings, tunable white), which is why we always say: if the walls are opening anyway, run the right cable.
Will my existing LED downlights dim properly?+
It depends on the lamp and driver — LED flicker and poor dimming are almost always a lamp-quality problem, not a control problem. During the survey we test your actual fittings and tell you which will dim well, which need a driver swap, and which are worth replacing. We’d rather lose an hour testing than hand over a house that buzzes.
Does lighting control work without the internet?+
Yes. Everything runs locally on the Miniserver in your house — switches, scenes, schedules and sensors keep working with the internet down. The internet is only needed for remote access from outside the house. There are no subscriptions and no cloud dependency.
